When some of our favorite artists haul their work up the mountain to one of our favorite places, that can only mean one thing.
Well, two things actually.
One – That it’s September.
Two – That the Monte Sano Art Festival is here!

Art on the Mountain
Arts Huntsville’s Monte Sano Art Festival, this year presented by Simple Helix, has become pretty popular over the last several years.
Last year’s overwhelming community support lead organizers, for the first time ever, to expand the festival to two days.
Monte Sano Art Festival 2016
Saturday, September 17 from 9 am – 5 pm
Sunday, September 18 from 9 am – 4 pm
That’s two days to shop for one-of-a-kind treasures by some of the best regional artists. In fact, over 140 of them!
Art will include
- woodworking
- painting
- wool felting
- pottery
- metal work
- jewelry
- photography
- glasswork
- and more!
If you are looking for your next big art haul, this is where you’ll find it.
A Festival
There is more to entice you to visit this festival besides art, even though that’s the star attraction.
Food vendors will include some of our street food favorites-
- The Big Easy Mobile Food Trailer
- Rollin’ Lobstah
- Iceworks Shaved Ice
- Piper & Leaf
- Suzy’s Pops
- What’s Popp’N
- Fire & Spice Food Truck
- Earth & Stone Pizza
- Chupper Time
- Valentine’s
Music will fill the air, creating the perfect backdrop to this real life art fantasy.
Hear the stylings of Chip Gulbro and Rob Noneman, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra String Quartet, The Beasley Brothers, Morgan Sloan, Reginald Jackson, Steven Massey, Jimmy Henderson, Milltowne, and Winslow Davis.
Local musicians will also perform in two features areas – Music on the Bluff and Music on the Pavilion.
Need to Know
Arts Huntsville works hard to organize and provide volunteers for this annual event. Special thanks to them for all of their hard work and the move to two days!
And did we mention that all of this is free to attend? Though the festival does not charge admission, there is a $5 parking fee to benefit Monte Sano State Park.
If you enjoy art, music, food, supporting local and our state park, make the Monte Sano Art Festival a can’t miss September event.
