After exploring Sewanee, I stopped at Mountain Goat Market for lunch. This market is super cute and eclectic, offering sandwiches & café fare in a rustic, homey setting. Indoor and outdoor seating, quick bites and healthy options, including gluten free bread. I ordered the Rueben; corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut, sabi sauce served with marbled rye gluten free bread. Not only was this sandwich packed with flavor, but it was also delicious!

I’ve eaten here before, but for those who haven’t you missed several key points in your review. Mountain Goat Market has a little souvenir shop with trinkets, shirts, mugs, hats and local sourced items like honey and jams. There is a coffee bar right inside the door.
It would be helpful if you reviewed and showed pictures of several menu items instead of only one sandwich. Definitely a review of their pizza, a salad and another sandwich or two would be very helpful. Maybe going with another person or a few other people and then you can photo their food items and get more reviews.
Wish you reviewed some items from their bakery and the picture you took actually showed some of the desserts up close. Mountain Goat Market has delicious seasonal desserts and right now they have pumpkin cheesecake, caramel apple crumble, pumpkin swirl brownies, pumpkin chai cupcakes and more.
I don’t know what time you went but readers should know that this place does gets crowded at certain times and the parking lot gets packed. When I went I had a 15 minute wait.
How expensive is this market? What was the price of your sandwich? I hear this place has awesome desserts, funky decor and fun atmosphere with all the goat art on the walls.
