Zombie fever is spreading once again like a mutant virus with the return of The Walking Dead. In the midst of viewing parties and zombie Sundays, there are two attractions in Huntsville that will give Dead Heads a chance to express their devotion.
Zombie Events in Huntsville
Whether you’re looking to get in the middle of all the zombie action or simply be a spectator, there is something for you this Halloween in Huntsville. Here are 2013’s zombie events in Huntsville.
Zombie Stomp
- Located: Spectactical Laser Tag in Madison
- Cost: $22
- Visit the Zombie Stomp website
Immerse yourself in the world of virus outbreaks with Zombie Stomp, an interactive laser tag experience that puts you right in the middle of the action. Once patrons check in at the main building, they are led to an abandoned 30,000 government research laboratory that has been overrun by the infected.
They are then provided with infrared M-4 laser tag rifles that recoil when shot, and must use them to ward off zombies as they locate the vials of antidote and return them to a safe room. Did I mention you only get 150 rounds each? Fans of Left for Dead and Borderlands won’t want to miss out on this real-life version.
Downtown Zombie Walk
- Date: October 27th
- Time: 2:00-4:00pm
- Locatation: Downtown Huntsville
- Cost: Free (bring canned dog or cat food)
Zombie fans can’t find a better friend than World Conspiracy. They know how to throw a zombie-themed event, and this Sunday marks the 7th Annual Zombie Walk in Downtown Huntsville. Already a country-wide phenomena, Zombie Walks entail patrons dressing up in their most decrepit attire and gathering to walk (er, stagger) through an urban center. World Conspiracy’s Zombie walk will take place downtown next to Big Spring Park. Participants will meet at the Downtown Clinton Street Parking Garage at 2:00, where directions will be given.
It is free to join, but each attendee is asked to bring one item of cat or dog food, which will be donated to SNAP Alabama. For those that don’t want to participate but still want to enjoy the spectacle, the outskirts of Big Spring Park will have the best views. This is a family and kid friendly event, so feel free to dress up your whole zombie-loving family, but remember to tone down the gory details.
