If you’re a parent then you know what consumes most of your time… Your kids and of course we are all tickled pink to keep them entertained, but if your’re like me you look for sources of entertainment that provide more than a quick energy release. In our house we discovered Youth Sports at the YMCA, and we love them! Kids not only learn good sportsmanship, but also skills for the game while enjoying socializing with other children and exercising. It’s a win win, even if you’re team doesn’t win.
Youth Sports Offerings
Seasonal sports at the Y include:
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Baseball
- Flag football
- Tee ball
Weekly Offerings include:
- Dream Olympics (swim team)
- Tang Soo Do (martial arts)
As a member of the YMCA you receive a discount, but you don’t have to be a member for your child to play. My little boy has played T-Ball and Soccer for the Y and our family enjoyed participating in the weekly practices and games.
I also got to call myself an official “Soccer Mom” for a season even though it was short lived since he’s more of a baseball kiddo. That’s fine with me because I love diamonds!
