Uh oh, it’s nearly Valentine’s Day. How did that happen? Weren’t we just unwrapping Christmas presents and making all those New Year Resolutions? But here it is, nearly upon us; are you ready?
Valentine’s Day Getaways
On the off chance some of you out there have not started to plan for Valentine’s Day, here are some getaways in North Alabama. These are quick to book (but don’t wait until February 13th) and come Valentine’s Day will make you the most romantic person on earth. Because what is more romantic than a rustic weekend getaway?
Here are three Valentine’s Day Getaways in North Alabama to get you started.
Getaway # 1: Mentone, Alabama
First on my Valentine’s Day getaways in North Alabama list is the Mentone Springs Hotel. They are having a special 5-course Valentine’s dinner. Tickets are available by reservations only and seating starts promptly at 6:00pm. The hotel has a 10 room/suite accommodation divided on two floors. Built in 1884, the hotel and property possesses an enduring (and endearing) history.

Getaway #2: Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge (Rogersville)
Next up on the Valentine’s Day Getaways in North Alabama list is Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge. You can choose from a standard room, junior suite, or regular suite at a reasonable rate and all have lakeside views. Go for a trail hike, play some golf, or do some fishing. They also offer lakeside cottages and cabins that are pet friendly. This would truly be a romantic getaway with your significant other and a change to unplug and reconnect with each other. They do, however, offer free wifi in case you experience withdraws.

Getaway #3: Magnolia Springs Bed & Breakfast
Rounding out the Valentine’s Day Getaways in North Alabama list is the Magnolia Springs Bed and Breakfast, which resides in one of the last communities in Baldwin County to receive their mail (year round) by boat. Now, that screams quaint and cozy.
This romantic B&B offers five rooms and/or suites that are beautifully decorated, equipped with private baths, and full of southern charm. You can either choose to stay in all weekend, or choose from a wide variety of activities in the area to get out and stretch yourself. Located in southern Baldwin county, nine miles north of Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, there is plenty to do and see. By the way, the Innkeepers grew up in Northern Alabama.
