Huntsville is known for its technology-focused and practical side, but we think the city really shines when you catch a glimpse of the enthusiasm for design and fun lifestyle that is also alive and well.

There are plenty of residents who agree with us that sometimes you just have to do something for the joy of it.
Renovating a 100-year-old house or restoring and driving a 50-year-old car might not meet the typical engineer’s criteria for achieving suitable functionality at the lowest cost, but sometimes there’s a price to be paid when doing something that comes from the heart.
Whether it’s historic homes, vintage cars, mountain bikes, art, coffee culture, or craft beer, we love seeing what other Huntsvillians are passionate about.
Sometimes it’s just the beauty of a city street, a scene in Big Spring Park, or ivy on the front porch of a craftsman home.
It’s always enjoyable to grab our camera, head out for an urban hike, and look for sights that are compelling to us.
Urban Exploring in Huntsville
Here are some of our favorite captures we’ve taken recently while exploring downtown Huntsville.
There is nothing cooler than taking a stroll downtown and stumbling upon a wedding and this beautiful car perfectly parked in front of the Weeden House.
We can’t think of a more perfect vehicle to take up to Monte Sano for a fun day of adventure than this classic FJ40.
One of our favorite antique shops in Huntsville is Railroad Station. It’s great to take a step back and admire the features of its historic building.
We think this car matches the feeling you get while walking down Franklin Street. Do you agree?
We walk by Honest Coffee Roasters almost every day, but getting a different perspective of it makes all the difference.
Cute Five Points cottages and bungalows always catch our eye (even more so when they’re pink!).
Everyone has seen the “Welcome to Huntsville” mural at Big Spring Park, but getting a shot of a duck casually walking by was a bonus!
It’s always fun going to concerts and events, but do you agree that there is also beauty in the simple things in life like exploring your city by foot?
