Forget Spring. The season we are most excited about around here involves food!
That’s right, Huntsville has an official Street Food Season 2014 and it kicks off this Friday, April 18, at AM Booth’s Lumberyard, 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Om Nom Nom Nom
Not only has Huntsville’s street food and food truck scene exploded over the last year, it just keeps getting bigger. Three new food trucks opened just in March.

Check out this line-up for Friday’s Kick-off:
- Rocket Dogs
- I Love Bacon Truck
- On-On Tacos
- Dallas Mill Deli Truck
- Badd Newz BBQ
- Sugar Belle
- The Peppered Pig
- Earth & Stone Wood Fired Pizza
- Bigfoot’s Little Donuts
- Rocket City Expresso
- Food Fighters Bustaurant
- Crave Heat
- Cafe on Wheels Neon Lilly
- Piper & Leaf
Click on any of the street food vendors to visit their Facebook page. This is a great way to keep up with where they will be each day and what their specials are.
Rumor has it that most of the food trucks will have something special just for the Street Food Season nights.
Here’s what we saw yesterday on Crave Heat’s Facebook:
Tunes & Tips
In addition to the food, there will be live music to enjoy.
- Big Spring Brass Band, 6 – 7 pm
- Rocket City Jazz Orchestra, 7 – 8:30 pm
- Rocket City Latin Band, 8:30 – 10 pm
And, in case you missed it, here are 5 Pro Tips from Downtown Huntsville, Inc.

- The food trucks will be both inside the Lumberyard & in the front parking lot.
Click to enlarge. Look for the Greenway Path inside the circle. - Cramer Park is just across Meridian Street with lots of places to sit and relax as well as a playground for kids near the National Children’s Advocacy Center.
- Remember that the dog park and skate park are very nearby too.
- This site is inside an entertainment district too (the Meridian Arts & Entertainment District).
- Though there is lots of free parking in the immediate area, consider parking near the Veterans Memorial and take the pleasant short walk from the Greenway behind the Memorial that leads you to the Lumberyard area.
3rd Friday, Put it on the Calendar
Make plans to support this event. Look for new and exciting “theme’s” each month.
Try something new.
You know, around here the only season outside of the natural ones that most folks care about is football season. Well, that’s about to change.
Let’s rally this Friday night and get ready for some foooood! Celebrate Street Food Season 2014!
