Chicken soup and T.L.C. from Mom probably got you through most sick days as a kid. But what if you were a child whose parents were unable to take you to the doctor? Or the dentist?
The sad reality is there are hundreds of children in our community who do not have access to basic medical care. The local non-profit HEALS answers the wishes of children who otherwise remain untreated when ill, or visit the emergency room for care.

The Event: Stars Dancing for HEALS 2013
How does HEALS bring medical care to children who would otherwise go under-treated? Via their flagship fundraiser – now in it’s seventh year – and known as ‘Stars Dancing For Heals.’ Modeled after the hit reality show Dancing with the Stars, the popular fundraiser features notables from the community who learn to dance for charity. You can participate by buying dollar donation “votes” to HEALS, which can be allocated to your favorite dancer.
The event is held at Monaco pictures, and will be live Broadcast on WAAY 31 from 6-7 pm on November 4, 2013. Vote online now for your favorite Star by donating to HEALS in any amount. Every dollar donated in the Star’s name counts as a vote.

Meet The Stars
Each star is paired with a local dance instructor to prepare one dance for the night of the event. They receive approximately 20 hours in lessons from Rocket City Dance Club and Southern Elegance Dance Studio. With dance rehearsals beginning in August these Stars have practiced their moves for three months leading up to the event.
