There can be no doubt that here, in the Tennessee Valley, we love craft beer.
There is also no doubting our aptitude toward science and engineering.
So many thanks to Sci-Quest Hands-on Science Center for bringing the two together into one special event:
Beer Quest, Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. General admission is $20 in advance and $25 the day of.
A brand new fundraiser, Sci-Quest Beer Quest is a 21+ event that “will examine the science of beer and offer guests samples from local breweries, presentations on home brewing, food trucks, carnival games, raffles and much more.”
Who Will Be There
The Science Center will be hopping (pun-intended) during Beer Quest.
Purchase a 16 ounce collector’s pint glass for $10 to sample beers from some favorite local brewers, including:
- Below the Radar Brewhouse
- Blue Pants Brewery
- Rocket Republic Brewing Company
- Salty Nut Brewery
- Straight to Ale
Not only will these breweries have stations set-up throughout the Science Center, they will also be discussing the science behind their most popular beers.
Home Brewers Showcase:
Sci-Quest Beer Quest will also have home brewers on-site, brewing beer outside on the patio. This will allow guests to see the stages of home brewing from fermentation to bottling.
Wish You Were Beer will also showcase their home brew equipment and ingredients. You might even have a chance to win a starter home brew kit!
What Goes With Beer
To enjoy a good beer tasting event, you need some substantial food. Sci-Quest will have several food trucks in the parking lot during the event for food purchases.
Earth Fare Huntsville will have free bottled water, snacks and door prizes.
There will also be carnival games, activities and cool prizes. To participate in carnival games, tickets will be available for purchase at the front desk.

Because we know that the science behind craft beer is actually part of the fun.
