views as far as the eye can see
North Alabama is home to some stunning views. Here is a list of 7 places that offer views as far as your eye can see!
Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve
Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve is located near Tuscumbia in Northwest Alabama. The 700-acre land is privately owned by Jim and Faye Lacefield who has graciously allowed hikers to visit their property without a fee for years. The property offers 15 miles of trails, multiple waterfalls, and a stunning view of the canyon at “The Point”. The locals favorite Waterfall, Lacefield Falls, has a unique hike behind the waterfall to get to the bottom of the falls. Recently the Lacefields have decided to sell their property and have partnered with The Land Trust of North Alabama to preserve the property for generations to come. If you would like to donate, you can find the donation page on the Land Trust’s website.

Both views are along the North Plateau loop. One is a short 100 yard walk from the parking lot and the other offers a view right at the parking lot. Monte Sano offers much more than views with numerous waterfalls, mountain biking trails, hiking trails, camp sites, cabins, an event lodge, an amphitheater, a planetarium, playgrounds, a Japanese botanical garden, and much more. Monte Sano is paid to enter. Entry fee depends on age of each person, but at most is $5/person.
