I admit it.
I’m a comedy junkie.
I grew up on SNL, reruns of SCTV, Monty Python, Kids in the Hall, and more obscure stuff like The State and The Frantics. It’s an addiction and I’m in need of a fix.

We haven’t had a full comedy club in this town since the Comedy Club on Oakwood burned down, relocated to The Hilton, and then disappeared into the night with nary a word.
Until now.
On January 26, Stand Up Live will open its doors and regale us with the stand-up comedy that we crave, starting with Christopher Titus.
The club is located at 2012 Memorial Parkway, which is the area that I refer to as THE Parkway, as separate from NORTH Parkway or SOUTH Parkway.
That area just seems like THE Parkway. It’s next to El Palacio and down the street from the recently unintentionally remodeled The Deep, in the old Tai Pan Palace building.
Tickets to upcoming shows are already on sale and can be bought here. Prices vary by performer.
They also have an email club for discounts and secret shows.
I also found out that they will have local MCs, there will be a food and beverage menu, and shows will be 18+ or 21+ depending on the act. In the future, they plan to have open mic nights.
The website also has a GENERAL INFO tab listing SHOWCASES and COMEDY CLASSES. There’s nothing in there yet, but I’m intrigued.
Upcoming shows listed are –
- Steve Byrne
- Piff the Magic Dragon
- Medium Cindy Kaza
- Jermaine “Funnymaine” Johnson
- Killer Beaz
- George Wallace
- D.L. Hughley
- Jon Reep
- Port Chuck
- Darren Knight
- Jake Johannsen
- RodMan
- Josh Wolf
- Josh Blue
- Ralphie May
- Carly Aquilino
- Jay Pharoah
- Rich Guzzi Comedy Hypnosis
- Nate Bargatze
- James Gregory
And that covers through June.
I realize this article is very informative and not at all funny. For that, I do apologize.
I’m just so excited for a new comedy club that I forgot to throw in some jokes. If need be I can go get my rainbow suspenders and a rubber chicken!
Wait, no, that’s too visual for print. It’ll never work. Oh well, I can always edit this last bit.
