Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! Tomorrow is the big day. It’s the Inaugural Mardi Gras celebration in downtown Huntsville.
Beignet Bash 5K
It all begins with a 5K run at 10:00 am (running in your best Mardi Gras ensemble, of course), sponsored in part by Straight to Ale & Publix. Runners can sample beer and treats after the race, including beignets. You can still register today at Fleet Feet or Saturday morning before the race at Constitution Village.
Mardi Gras Grand Parade
You wanted it Huntsville, now you’ve got it! The Grand Parade will hit the streets, beads and all, at 5:00 pm. The Krewes have been hard at work on floats and costumes. Starting at The Depot’s Roundhouse, join in on the fun. Both the Beignet Bash 5K and Grand Parade are family friendly. There will be beads at the parade but no strings attached to getting them. It’s fun for the whole family.
Krewe Party
After the parade, the place to be is Early Works Museum for the Krewe Party starting at 6:30 pm. Tickets to this party are $50 per person and the money is going to a great cause.
Here are your 3 reasons to hit the Krewe Party:
1. Music by The Flashbacks, a great party band who play a wide variety of music.
2. Taste of New Orleans menu will be from Cyn Sheas Express.
3. Proceeds benefit the Blount Hospitality House.
