On Saturday, June 21, 2025, Huntsville will once again join cities around the world for Make Music Day – a free, all-day, citywide celebration of music open to anyone and everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just enjoy listening, this is your chance to experience the Rocket City alive with sound.
What is Make Music Day?
Make Music Day began in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique and has since grown into a global phenomenon. The goal is simple: make music accessible, spontaneous, and community-driven. Instead of headliners or ticketed stages, Make Music Day is built on public performances in parks, plazas, porches, and businesses – and it’s entirely free.
Where to See Live Music in Huntsville
This year’s celebration will bring music to every corner of the city.
Dozens of locations will host performances as part of the celebration. To see the full lineup of artists, venues, and performance times, visit makemusicday.org/huntsville.

Anyone can take part – and it’s easy to join in. Musicians of all levels are encouraged to sign up to perform, and community members, businesses, or property owners can register to host performances in any suitable public or semi-public space. Music with a Mission
Make Music Day Huntsville isn’t just about performances – it’s also a platform to spotlight the healing power of music. This year, the event helps raise awareness for the incredible work being done by the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy program. Through the support of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, board-certified music therapists provide personalized care to patients and families, using music to reduce stress, manage pain, and improve overall well-being. From playing lullabies in the NICU to offering comfort in palliative care, their work shows that music is more than entertainment — it’s a powerful tool for healing. Music for the Community, by the Community
Make Music Day is a chance to celebrate creativity, connection, and the joy of live performance – not just for performers, but for the entire community. On June 21, Huntsville becomes a stage, and everyone’s invited to listen, play, and be part of something bigger.
Save the date, bring a chair or a friend, and let the music move you.
