Every Saturday from mid-April to late November, area residents will find the Madison City Farmers Market open for business. Located on Hughes Road, the Madison City Farmers Market is in its sixth season of serving our community. A producer-only market, all goods sold at MCFM have been produced within 100 miles of the marketplace.
The Goods
The market is in full swing right now, and you are likely to find a wide variety of fresh produce on Saturdays at the Madison City Farmers Market. To get regular updates of what produce will be available each week at the market, follow Madison City Farmers Market on Facebook.
Here’s just a sampling of the goods you’ll find at the market:
- Figs
- Gorgeous heirloom tomatoes
- Purple hull peas
- Cucumbers
- Fresh herbs
- Peppers of every kind
- And much, much more fresh produce
In addition to fresh produce, market-goers will find:
- Eggs
- Meat
- Honey
- Cut flowers
- Jams
- Jarred pestos
- Baked goods
- Desserts.
If you’re wondering when your favorite fruits and vegetables will be making an appearance at the Madison City Farmers Market, visit the market’s website for North Alabama’s harvest schedule.
Regardless of season, Madison City Farmers Market shoppers will find non-edible treats produced by talented local artisans. Beautifully woven baskets, handcrafted cards, and hand-dyed shirts are just a few of the items that are created by area artists just for Madison City Farmers Market shoppers.

The Vendors
Dozens of vendors set up shop each week at Madison City Farmers Market. On a given Saturday, you can look forward to seeing local vendors such as Dixon Family Meats, Tune Farm, and Blanks Berry Farm.
Quite a few suppliers are exclusive to MCFM:
- Karen’s Healthy Kitchen
- Rohe Bee Ranch
- EarthShip Tie Dye & Fiber Arts
- Sew What?
- Spencer’s Farm Soaps
- Planting Joy
Planning Your Market Trip
If possible, plan on getting to the market early in order to get the best selection. If you won’t be heading straight home after shopping, put a cooler in your trunk to keep your market treasures fresh. Parking is free and readily available. Save a plastic bag by bringing your own basket or reusable shopping bag from home.

Thanks for mentioning my sewn & handcrafted cards in your review of the Madison City Farmers Market. The market has grown a lot since relocating next to Discovery Middle.
And you were SO RIGHT to suggest early visits: best choice !
Looking forward to complete another great season.
I’m planning to be there this weekend with the whole family! Thanks, Sarah, for the tips!- L
Laurie, find Tune Farm’s stand and get some of their orange cherry tomatoes. They were sooo good! Have fun!
Dani, Your cards are beautiful! Where was MCFM located before its current location?
