Greetings and salutations Our Valley Events readers. This is my first blog with OVE, so I guess I should start with an intro.
So yeah, I’m Tina. I write.

Okay, technically you could have got that from reading just the heading, so maybe I should elaborate.
I’m a Huntsville native, pop culture obsessor, improv comedian, actor in a web series, filmmaker, and wrangler of two badly behaved schnauzers named Tripper and Lulu.
My writing is rarely linear, and I’m known to go off on random tangents and forget the point of the article.
What was I talking about again?
Well I was going to do a day in the life sort of piece, but we’re just going to hit highlights to cut out the boring stuff like groceries, laundry, and the 500 cute things my schnauzers did each day.
A Day in the Life of Tina
Bandito
Tuesday I could be found at Bandito on Governors Drive. Local beer and burritos with friends is a good thing.
A good thing I admittedly do too much. But burritos! I regret nothing.
Stanlieo’s Sub Villa
On Friday, me and the Traveling Companion decided to hit Stanlieo’s Sub Villa on Governors Drive (the one on Jordan Lane is also yummy). The Traveling Companion got a Kitchen Sink. I think he liked it, but I didn’t get a chance to ask him before he eated it all. I had the hot dog. They have good hot dogs. The bun is buttered and they use good bread.
Historic Lowry House
After dinner, we headed over to the Historic Lowry House on Kildare. Built in 1823, the Lowry House is just one of those houses you want to hang around in.
It’s also rumored to be haunted. I actually did a ghost hunt there (and wrote about it) a few years ago. Only one thing happened, but it was enough that someone in my group knocked me over out of fear.
Bloodless: The Lizzie Borden Mystery – This was written and directed by Huntsville’s own Wayne Miller. It played the first time a few years ago (the weekend that I was upstairs at the Lowry House on my ghost hunt actually), so it was nice actually seeing for reals instead of just overhearing random lines and screams.
The play had an unusual, interactive format. Since we were in an old house, there’s no stage. The actors are just right there.
Both narrators (Jeremy Jerome Woods and Valerie MacMurdy) would set up each scene for the audience. They also proposed several scenarios and theories for the whodunnit.
I mean, it’s unsolved so there wasn’t a right answer. Well, there is a right answer, but no one knows it. Lizzie Borden was played by Michelle Huguley. She did a fantastic job.
If I see her on the street, I will probably walk the other way and assume she has a hatchet.
So…that was my weekend. Or at least the highlights.
So that’s my intro. I’m Tina.
Nice to meet ya.
