Jeremy Long has big plans for Huntsville’s nerd community.
He used to sell comic books on the side to different shows and expos in places like Atlanta, Birmingham, and Memphis, wishing after every show that there could be something similar in Huntsville.
Last year, he decided to make it happen.

Level Up
In March 2016 the first ever Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo launched at the Jaycee Community Building. Open for only one day, it was a small show and completely self-funded by Jeremy.
It was expected to have a turnout of 1,000 people.
At the end of the day, just under 2,000 people showed up for the first Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo.
The theme for the this year’s expo is appropriately called “Level Up”, meaning that it will be bigger, better, and more jam-packed than last year.
The event takes place over two days, March 18 – 19 at the Von Braun Center North Hall.
In addition to having twice the venue size as last year, the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo is introducing Special Guests, such as X-Men Comic writer Chris Claremont and Original Blue Power Ranger David Yost. Guests also include Joey Fatone and comic book artist Mike Grell.
Other awesome features of the Expo are:
- Gaming areas with tabletop and console games
- Kid’s area full of kid-friendly activities
- A superhero green screen photo op from the Valley CW
- Saturday night afterparty
Not to mention, food trucks, discussion panels, and more!
The Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo is partnering with Kids to Love Foundation, where a portion of the ticket sales will go directly to the non-profit.
There will also be a silent auction during the expo that will donate 100% of funds raised to Kids to Love.
