While normally these three sentences strung together do not make much sense, I guarantee you are humming one of the tunes in your mind right now. So get excited Huntsville because the boys from Tuskegee — best known as The Commodores — will play for us on Thursday, May 9.

The event is part of an annual series of concerts conducted by the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. And, if you are a young professional in the ‘Ville, there is something new and exciting happening for you this year. The Huntsville Young Professionals and Ignite have joined forces to plan a phenomenal concert experience especially for you: the Huntsville Classic YP Happy Hour.

Rock on Huntsville

The Huntsville Classic YP Happy Hour begins at 6pm with a private pre-party at Propst Arena featuring live music, light hors d’oeuvres, 2 drink tickets, plus a cash bar that includes local craft beer.

After the happy hour is an early escort into the Arena before doors open to the public. There, YP’s will be seated as a group in a premium space by the stage.

I should mention that this event is open to all YP’s. You do not have to be a member of Huntsville Young Professionals or Ignite to join in this event.

While the twist for YP’s I just described is new this year, The Huntsville Classic Concert is a well-known fundraiser now in its 25th year. Past performers include chart toppers the Beach Boys and Foreigner. Typically the cost for the dinner & concert portion is $150 per person, whereas the new YP Happy Hour and concert tickets are priced at $40. Proceeds

Proceeds from the 2013 Classic will benefit Huntsville Hospital’s Cardiovascular program. Sponsoring the YP portion of the event is Project XYZ.
