When was the last time you received gastronomic delight? When was the last time you even used that word? But that is just one of the many things I love about The Happy Tummy. It’s one of a kind, from the lovely pink logo to the very creative names of the sandwiches and wraps; there is nothing cookie cutter about this place!
Happy History
What were you doing on July 17, 2008? I have no idea what I was doing, but on that date Catherine Shearer opened the Happy Tummy in the trailer located outside (where Chef Will is now) Lowe Mill.
There was a small menu that changed each week and is where most of today’s selection started. Then in December 2010, when the first floor was finished out, the Happy Tummy moved inside.
Now you can eat inside or at one of the tables on the back dock, which is really nice now that it’s cooling off a little bit.

What’s in a name?
- The Bad Apple
- That’s the Last Straw
- My Muy Grande Greek Wrap
- Diablito
- Korean BBQ
These aren’t movie or song titles, those are the names of some of Happy Tummy’s sandwiches and wraps! These are great for First Timers…you won’t seem them on any other menus around town! There are tons more, all made fresh when you order, many of them with Fred Bread…made right upstairs on the second floor!
I am a big fan of the Don’t Mess with Texas, and Craisy Chicken. Just for fun, what do you think “The Sandwich Formerly Known as the King” features?
