The Sports Page has been a Huntsville institution for longer than I can remember. But a few years ago, good friend and local musician Mike Roberts and super cool dude Brian O’Beirne bought what is affectionately known as “The Page” by the regulars, and gave this old watering hole new life.
A Delicious Change
One of the biggest changes is the delicious food available from the kitchen for lunch, dinner and when that “4th meal” craving hits. And by the way, they are currently sporting a 96 health department rating, something Mike and Brian are very proud of—as they should be!
The Page offers a home cooked lunch special Monday through Friday, prepared with love by Miss Ann.
Some of the favorites are:
- Meat loaf (every Thursday)
- Turkey and dressing
- Fried chicken
- Home made mac and cheese (to die for)
- Perfectly seasoned turnip greens
- Mashed potatoes with gravy
Friday is steak day. Your lunch includes a big, juicy steak, baked potato, a salad and dessert bar. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge! I have never been able to finish a lunch at the Page, and those who know me, know I can eat. The full menu is also available during lunch and features one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. The fries are always hot and fresh and everything is cooked to order. Other offerings are entrée sized salads, sandwiches, wings and pizza. All of which are available late-night.
Let Me Entertain You
And it isn’t just about the food, if you like live music, The Page is your place—there is something going on 7 nights a week! In addition to the music, there is a crab leg plate special during the “Deadliest Catch” on Tuesdays, live trivia on Wednesdays and a dart tournament every Thursday, as well as several pool tables.
The music usually starts around 9:30 and the stage is, uh-hum, ‘graced’ by local favorites like David Anderson, 5ive O’Clock Charlie, Black Label, Gus Hergert and Noel Webster-just to name a few. On any given night, there may very well be a “jam session” since most of the acts are friends and tend to get up and play with each other. There is never a dull moment at The Page!
But as fun as all of this is—the best thing about The Page is the people. The staff and the regulars will make you feel at home no matter if it is your first visit or your 50th. The beer is cold, the drinks are strong and the tea is sweet. Go by and grab some lunch today and come back for the music tonight!

Amy is ‘spot on’ as Guy Fieri would say. If you like a burger, try the special bacon cheeseburger on Texas Toast. Half-pound burger that comes with fries and all the fixin’s! You can’t go wrong at “Da Pabe”!
The only thing I could possibly add to this fantastic (and spot on) review is that Noel Webster is a Grammy winner with his work with The Black Keys!
