The Boys in Blue are back this Friday night as Huntsville City FC kicks off our home opener at 7pm against Orlando City B. In addition to great returning players and dynamic new members of the squad, when you arrive at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium, you’ll discover exciting new additions and updates to your matchday experience.
Let’s take a look at the Top 5 New Experiences at Wicks Family Field
The New North Plaza: Checking in at over 7,500 square feet, the new plaza is immediately adjacent to the Yellowhammer Brewing beer garden. The flexible space will feature an array of picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, outdoor games (think foosball, cornhole and more) where guests can gather and play before the match. The plaza will also be available for large group rentals (up to 500 guests) throughout the year as well.
Exciting new food and beverage options: our culinary team is introducing some new surprises this season including new sandwiches and entrees–smoked fresh on site at the field level for every match with our brand new smoker. Plus, the new HCFC/Yellowhammer “beer boot” featuring your favorite beverages in a souvenir cup and new draft cocktails in the beer garden. Plus, returning favorites like the Huntsville Hot Chicken Sandwich!
New merchandise locations: In addition to our incredible new To The Moon and Countdown jerseys, we’ll be introducing unique, new HCFC merchandise throughout the season. And, this year, it’ll be even easier to find your favorite merchandise in our expanded team store nearby the Yellowhammer Brewing beer garden. The large new store will be stocked with all HCFC scarves, clothing, and so much more. And, if you’re near the jumbotron, we’re debuting a new merchandise window right next to the main concessions store under the jumbotron. Grab some merch and tasty food right next to each other!
New premium spaces: Love the open-air suites on the field level behind the south goal but don’t need to reserve an entire suite? Well, we’ve got good news! This year, we’re making individual tickets available for purchase in two of the field boxes all season long. Enjoy incredible views of the action whether you’re solo or with a few friends. Best of all, each ticket includes complimentary beverages from a cooler in your suite!
The Rocket Launch Experience: Late last season, we introduced the only NASA J2-X rocket engine located in a sports stadium. The response was terrific so this year we’re upping our game. Before each kickoff and after each HCFC goal, our rocket engine will come to life in an exciting new way. It’ll be a Blast!
As you can hopefully see, the second year in our Huntsville City FC home stadium is going to be filled with new and expanded experiences that, when combined with our dynamic and fast-paced squad, will make every HCFC match, beginning with this Friday’s home opener, one of the most exciting experiences in the City!
