I have a confession. With a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old, I can’t wait for Sci-Quest’s annual Hands On Trucks event! It’s a kid’s dream come true – getting up close to and being able to touch and climb in all different kinds of vehicles. Wow!
More Than Just Trucks
Sci-Quest partners with local organizations to bring these different vehicles for children to get a unique, hands-on experience. According to Sci-Quest, children can get behind the wheel and explore a variety of their favorite vehicles and meet the men and women who drive the trucks. From ice cream trucks to fire engines, Sci-Quest assembles a variety of vehicles for this day of fun.
“Hands-on Trucks is one of our most popular family events; kids just love being able to climb in the different vehicles and getting that hands-on experience that they have never had before,” said Cyndy Morgan, executive director of Sci-Quest.
Vehicles appearing for the first time this year are a Bass Boat and a Nascar Race Truck. There will also be inflatables, balloons, ice cream and face painting.
I spoke to Sci-Quest’s Kim Rozek, and she shared the complete list of confirmed vehicles. And they expect to have even more by the time of the event. She stressed that the event is completely hands on.
