Mini golf (or putt-putt as most know it) is a blast for people who love messing around with a golf club every once in a while.
And there are plenty of golf courses out here for the more serious golf players. But is there a way to bring these two types of golfers together?

With Topgolf and X-Golf taking up residence in Huntsville, I think the answer is yes.
Check out the rundown of each venue below!
Topgolf
Topgolf is great for:
- Large groups and events
- parties interested in food and drink with their entertainment
- any-skill golf players.
Topgolf Huntsville opened last month as an early addition to the MidCity Mixed-use Development. Quickly becoming a spreading attraction through the Southeast, Topgolf promises to attract putt-putt enthusiasts and serious golf players alike.
This venue boasts multiple stories filled with seating or “bays”, covered areas where players tee off into a large green. The bays have comfortable seating for large parties of people and provide clubs, golf balls, and a small tee off area.
Players can hone their skills on the green, dotted with lit up circular targets across the field. Shoot for the targets closest to you, or dare your friends to see who can get to the farthest target first.
Want to get better at your swing? Topgolf also offers lessons.
Bays can be rented by the hour, and are great for having a party or work event.
Bonus: The Topgolf restaurant and bar can take any party to the next level, while the first floor lounge has T.V.s and pool tables.
X-Golf
X-Golf is great for:
- Smaller groups and parties
- golf enthusiasts who dream of playing famous courses
- craft beer lovers
X-Golf is a unique golfing experience that boasts “the most advanced and accurate golf simulation experience in the world”.
Players use real clubs and golf balls to play simulated golf courses projected onto a large screen. The golf balls are tracked using cutting-edge technology once they are hit to determine where they end up on the simulated course. The golf courses range in difficulty, and players can choose either an invented or real course on the simulation.
The technology doesn’t stop there. With X-Birdie, a golfer’s swing can be recorded and analyzed, and a driving range simulation can be customized by any player in their Training On-the-Course. Golfers can create a field with their own distance, course, and holes so they can perfect their game.
Bonus: X-Golf venue includes a bar area with local craft brews and food for patrons waiting for the next game or getting their drink on while perfecting their swing.
