Looking for a way to brighten up your holiday season? Then you must head over to the Huntsville Botanical Garden and check out the Galaxy of Lights 2013!
What You’ll See
I’ve been to the Huntsville Botanical Garden many times, but I had no idea how much it could transform for the Galaxy of Lights 2013! This attraction truly takes holiday decorating to heart.
As the name implies, the Galaxy of Lights is a wonderland of lights, so prepare to be dazzled. You drive through the Garden and look at amazing displays (everything from holiday bells to Little Miss Muffet).
And let me just cut off any Scrooges in the group: this a a popular attraction. Which means lots of people will be there. You may have to wait. But this is not an attraction you will want to speed through! If there are a lot of cars the night you go, enjoy the lights! Look around! It’s why you came.
Displays include:
- Favorite Christmas carols brought to life
- Nursery rhymes
- Icicle garden
- And many more!
Walking Nights
If you hurry, you can experience the Galaxy of Lights 2013 in my new favorite way: Walking Nights. From November 22-26 you can actually walk through the attraction. And on November 25th, you can even bring your favorite 4 legged friend (ie your dog).
I tried this for the first time this year and it was magical. Walking through the lights is a completely different experience than driving. You feel like you are a part of them.
And my dog loved it! Mostly he loved smelling the lights on the ground, but he didn’t eat any of the lights, so I called it a win!
Note: if your dog likes to stop and sniff (mine does), then plan accordingly. There is LOTS to smell.
