Huntsville has a big heart.
We use that big heart to help each other out in many ways, including supporting our non-profits.
But supporting our community’s non-profits doesn’t have to mean writing a big check (though that is often needed and appreciated).
There are other ways to give back and get the helping feels.
Attend an Event
One of the most fun ways to give back in Huntsville is to go to an event. That’s right, go to an event. And we aren’t just saying that because it’s kind of our thing either.
Some events are fundraisers and you might not even know it!
Purchasing a ticket and spending time with friends or your significant other enjoying a fun event can be just the thing to help a non-profit in need.
A few fundraiser event examples:
- BBQ, Brews and Blues at Straight to Ale supports the Junior League of Huntsville.
- Mercury Rising Chili Fest @ Historic Huntsville Depot supports Leadership Huntsville.
- Attending a Broadway Theatre League or Huntsville Symphony show and you are creating educational opportunities for area school children.
- The Mad Scientist Bash is a fun way to support Sci-Quest.
Volunteer
Another way to give back in Huntsville is to volunteer.
Events like The Arts Council’s Panoply require hundreds of volunteers to be successful. Really, hundreds of people.
Other examples during the upcoming holidays include volunteering at EarlyWorks Santa’s Village and Huntsville Botanical Gardens Galaxy of Lights.
Many of our non-profit friends need extra help during the holidays so consider giving of your time.
No matter how you chose to give back, just give. Our community is better for all the ways that you do.
