One of my favorite places to hear live music in Huntsville is at the Folk Mission monthly listening room concerts at Straight to Ale. And it just so happens the first 2014 Folk Mission Concert is coming up this weekend, on January 18, 2014 featuring Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion.

For those of you who have not experienced the Folk Mission Concert awesomeness, here are 5 reasons you simply MUST check out this weekend’s Folk Mission Concert.
Reason #1: The Atmosphere
The Folk Mission Concert takes place in the fabulous Straight to Ale taproom, which provides amazing acoustics as well as great seating. No matter where you sit, you’ve got a terrific seat. Plus it’s a fun listening room atmosphere. Perfect for a date night, girls night out or guys night.

You may know Sarah Lee’s father, Arlo Guthrie, American folk singer.
Even if that name doesn’t ring a bell I bet you’re familiar with her grandfather, iconic folk singer Woody Guthrie. Still nothing? Woody wrote “This Land Is Your Land.” Bet you’ve heard that. And their music lives on in Sarah.
