I’ve got a feeling that you’re totally gonna love Broadway Theatre League’s next show: Flashdance the Musical coming to the Von Braun Center February 21-23, 2014. Based on the 1980’s movie, Flashdance the Musical tells the story of Alex Owens, steel worker by day, bar dancer by night, dreams of stardom in her head.
#1: Awesome 80’s music
No matter what your taste in music, you have to admit the 80’s gave us some catchy tunes. And Flashdance the Musical is filled with these tunes.
Here’s a selection:
- Flashdance – What a Feeling
- Maniac
- Gloria
- I Love Rock & Roll
#2: Dance
You know what goes with awesome 80’s music? If you guessed even awesomer dancing, then you would be correct!
How do I know the dancing will be so totally rad?
Because Flashdance the Musical was choreographed and directed by Sergio Trujillo. This fella is responsible for some of Broadway’s most energetic and inventive choreography in the last decade including:
- Jersey Boys (coming to town in March…)
- Memphis
- Next to Normal
- Leap of Faith
Basically with this guy in charge of dancing, it’s gonna be totally righteous.
#3: Break out the Legwarmers
Dressing up is encouraged! So break out those parachute pants, leg warmers, shoulder pads, neon anything, and hit the town!
#4: Great Prices
