Humor me for a moment, close your eyes and visualize your front door. What color is it? Where is it positioned in comparison to your residence? Is it centered? To the right? To the left?
Now, in your mind, turn the knob and walk through the door. Do you enter directly into a living room? A stairwell? A foyer? What is the first thing you see? Smell? Hear? Touch?
What Your Door Says About You
Did you know your front door and your entryway convey messages about who you are, how you are, what matters to you, what you wish for in life, and how you interact with others? Your front door is just one characteristic of your dwelling that we will study in my upcoming Feng Shui Workshop.
Feng Shui (pronounced “fung schway”) is the ancient, yet timeless practice of creating different energy states in the human body using our physical surroundings. Need to slow down? Wish to lighten up? Want more security? Balance? Better health? Start within your home!
A Better Understanding
Your home is an active force in your life, regardless of how much (or how little) attention you give it. On a daily basis, your home offers unfailing opportunities to understand WHO you are and what your life is currently focused on. Your home is where you physically manifest your beliefs about the world.
Your relationships with abundance, creativity, intimacy, family, health, fame and spirituality are steeped throughout your home. They are mirrored in your bathrooms, showcased on your walls, embedded in your bedding, deep-seated in your cushions, and reflected in your windows.
Most people can immediately relate to the example of abundance. When abundance arrives, it can take many forms: money, gifts, love, compliments, assistance.
- How is your relationship with abundance?
- When it appears in your life, do you see it?
- More importantly…Do you let it in
Home is where the Qi Is
In next month’s Feng Shui Workshop, we’ll explore how Qi [“chee” – the universal energy that connects everything to everything else] flows through a home. We’ll uncover where we’re “stuck” – not letting the Qi flow in our lives. We’ll then explore cures to becoming “un-stuck.”
We’ll incorporate the five elements (water, earth, metal, fire, air), yin & yang factors and we’ll utilize a Bagua – a template used to align and adjust the flow of energy through the different facets of your life. Next we’ll study how colors, shapes and numbers expand and contract the Qi in our surroundings.
My goal is that you will leave with a much greater awareness of where your body’s energy interfaces with your home’s energy.

Join me on Saturday, February 9th for a fun and informative afternoon learning how the Qi within you can profoundly change based on what is surrounding you.
