The Rocket City Trash Pandas are back in town! The third season of baseball in the Rocket City begins on Thursday, April 6 with a three-game series against the Chattanooga Lookouts. After their first trip to the playoffs last season, the Trash Pandas will look to take the next step in 2023 in route to bringing home a Southern League Championship.
The Trash Pandas posted the most home wins in Minor League Baseball in 2022, the team will look for similar success behind the home field advantage provided by Trash Panda Nation.
Opening Weekend
Opening Weekend at Toyota Field from April 6-8 features a post-game fireworks spectacular after each game. Opening Night on Thursday, April 6 will include a Magnet Schedule giveaway for 5,000 fans, presented by Lexus of Huntsville. Gates Open at 5 p.m. for a special pre-game Happy Hour, with drink specials available at the Inline Electric Rock Porch from 5-7 p.m. Thursday is also Burgers and Buds Thursday, where fans can purchase a burger and a Bud or Bud Light for just $12.
Friday features the debut of the Trash Pandas’ new Halo Blue uniforms, which honor the Trash Pandas’ parent club, the Los Angeles Angels, and the local aerospace community. To celebrate the occasion, special blue cocktails, a Halo Blue draft beer, berry blue lemonade, and blue ice cream will be available. Saturday night wraps up the opening series, with the third straight fireworks show to begin the 2023 season.
While at Toyota Field, fans can now enjoy new specialty food items such as Rocket City Hot Chicken Fries, Philly Cheesesteaks, signature sandwiches, house-made pizza, and dessert items including Cheesecake Poutine and The Trash Can, an ice cream sundae in a full-size replica helmet big enough to serve four people.
Fans also now have access to an exclusive Meet The Team Dinner on Wednesday, April 5 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. This will be the public’s first opportunity to meet the 2023 Trash Pandas ahead of Opening Night. The dinner includes a buffet-style meal as fans will be seated with Trash Pandas players and coaches at each table. Manager Andy Schatzley will preview the season, followed by a question-and-answer session with players and coaches.
Opening Weekend is only the beginning of what promises to be an exhilarating season at Toyota Field. The Trash Pandas’ 69-game home schedule is loaded with theme nights, giveaways, and 27 fireworks spectaculars. Great seats are still available, and tickets can be found HERE.
