Small businesses and locally owned restaurants are what make Huntsville-Huntsville. Challenge your foodie side with this monthly goal list that will increase your knowledge and palate of Huntsville’s local food scene.
The month of SEPTEMBER challenge includes several restaurants in nearby Madison, a brand new coffee shop inside a beloved brewery in downtown Huntsville and a unique collaboration fun treat to enjoy this month and all fall season long!
All foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle and in true Rocket City Dietitian fashion, this list contains a mix of all types of foods from savory to sweet, health conscious to indulgent because #AllFoodsFit into a healthy lifestyle.

Le Petite Bijou by Domaine South (aka Baby Domaine)

Le Petite Bijou is the original smaller location of Domaine South. This is more of a sandwich and wine shop and the larger location across the street hosts more seating and more entrée style dishes.
The BLT: DS sandwich is one of those craveable dishes that you look forward to and have taste memories that last beyond that meal.
Warm thinly sliced ham, tomato chutney, bibb lettuce, fresh mozzarella, herb aioli and bacon on a toasted brioche. Pari with a house salad or fries for a craveable meal.

Hot little donuts made to order! Great place to go and enjoy a treat with kids or pick up to go. The Apple Cider donuts give us a sweet hint of fall in tiny little bites.

Sushi tacos are a fun modern take on traditional sushi rolls. Four sushi taco styles to try. The eel avocado was a surprise favorite! While you are here be sure to take a selfie with the cool cat statue greeting you out front and try more from this creative menu.

Classic southern cuisine but Kala’s Chicken is the dish to try at Waltons. Grilled rosemary chicken stopped with two thinly sliced fried green onions. Pair with sides like strawberry pretzel salad and hash brown casserole. Be sure to ask for Alabama white sauce to eat with this chicken meal.

Located inside the beloved downtown microbrewery, Green Bus Brewery. A coffee shop with house made syrups and features house made and local ingredients using Canadian Bakin bagels, Remedy Herbs artisanal teas, house made chicken salad varieties and classic southern party crackers. Nitro cold brew coffee, lattes, drip and espresso using downtown coffee roasting legends, Kaffee Klatch.
Try the toasted honey latte! The brewery is still open during their regular hours so come back in the evening for unique craft beers.
Goodland Pour House: Hangover Pizza

The Hangover pizza will be calling your name and not just after a late night. Deep dish crush goodness loaded with breakfast sausage gravy and sunny side up eggs.

This South Huntsville coffee dive roast their own coffee beans, while you are here enjoying your latte, coffee, tea and pastries, grab a bag of house roasted beans to take to your home or office!
They recently opened a covered patio area and a unique drive thru option. Menu also has specialty drinks like Frozen Crow, Pops Coffee ( a soda and coffee drink). Grab a Crow in the Fog latte, their take on a London fog using local tea legend, Piper & Leaf.
Fusion BBQ: Smoked Watermelon Salad

Smoked watermelon salad. Cold smoked watermelon cubes, mixed greens, goat cheese crumbles, candied pecans, fresh mint and a Yuzu sesame vinaigrette. Great as an entrée, sharable side or add a protein like pulled pork or chicken tenders to complete your meal.
