Eating out can get to be a pricey adventure. Even the average fast food run seems to be pushing $10 a person, so the idea of going somewhere local can leave you eyeing your wallet.
Luckily good food doesn’t have to expensive!
Here are a few of my favorite spots for eating locally and economically!
Eat Cheap in Huntsville
Taqueria El Cazador
There are several locations of this small Huntsville chain, but my favorite is the one on Governors which is colloquially known as “the taco bus”. Regardless of which spot you prefer, you can pick up an order of 3 tacos for under $5 and a larger meal and drink for well under $10.

Big Spring Cafe
A diner with an old school feel, this spot offers small burgers, hot dogs, and fries, each for a couple of dollars or less. Those with small appetites will eat for under $5, those with larger appetites, easily under $10. Come with cash though, they don’t take credit.

Looking for a spot with table service which won’t break the bank? Lunch specials at La Alameda hover in the $4-$6 range, or order the buffet and still come out under $10.
