I’m excited about what Downtown Huntsville is becoming. I love seeing the construction behind Huntsville Hospital with the new Twickenham Square development. I also love:
- catching up with friends while shopping for fresh, local foods at the Green Street Market.
- the sounds of children laughing as they make crafts and listen to storytellers at The Children’s Corner.
- to window shop (and buy!) at the Sidewalk Arts Stroll.
The new Arts and Entertainment Districts have opened up lots of new possibilities for our downtown area. And, we have many local groups that are helping to make our downtown thrive. The Arts Council is bringing Art2 with live entertainment each Thursday and Friday nights. And, the Historic Huntsville Foundation is bringing back the tradition of free Movies in the Park.
Downtown Summerfest 2013
Now, we have a music festival coming that will have Downtown Huntsville kicking! Downtown Summerfest is back on August 17th, and it’s a great time to have a blast in Downtown Huntsville!
Here is what you can expect:
WHO is playing?
Here is the breakdown of the day:
- 2:00pm Gates Open
- 2:30-3:15 Madison Station
- 3:30-5:00 Trailer Choir
- 5:30-7:00 The Wayne Mills Band
- 7:30-9:00 Uncle Kracker
- 9:30-11:00 Jamey Johnson
Now here is the thing… you may not be a fan of Uncle Kracker. Never heard of Jamey Johnson? or Trailer Choir? That’s OK! It’s outdoor, live music! Come anyway and listen to great bands with hundreds of your closest friends enjoying the beautiful outdoors! It’s fantastic if you love the artists, but you can enjoy music festivals without being the biggest fan of the headliners.
WHAT to expect?
Downtown Summerfest is closing down streets for this block party! At 2:00 the party starts with vendors providing food and drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic). Remember to bring chairs if you want a seat. Also, wear comfy shoes- you may be on your feet for a bit.
Ready to join in? There are a variety of ticket options including general admission and VIP tickets. Also remember- this is for all ages!
WHEN is the festival?
August 17th– the perfect time for a back to school or end of summer celebration!
WHERE is the music festival?
Downtown Summerfest will involve closing off several streets in the downtown Huntsville area, with the entrance gate at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Washington Street. Here is a map, in case you aren’t familiar with the area. Just remember that there are a lot of one way streets in downtown Huntsville.

- $35 tickets day of show if available

Hi Skylar! We asked the event organizers and they suggested the bottom of the parking garage.
