There’s a lot going on in downtown Huntsville this month! Month two of the Arts Council’s Art2 again brings downtown Huntsville to life on Thursday and Friday nights. With everything from live music performances to extended Museum of Art hours, everyone is sure to find some downtown Huntsville events in July for them.
Performances
Every Thursday and Friday night in July, a variety of musicians will perform throughout the Quigley Arts & Entertainment District from 5-10pm.
- Friday, July 12th: Rivers and Rust, Helen Keller’s Ukulele, & BrothaRic Patton on the square
- Friday, July 12th: Gavin Boost in concert in Big Spring Park East
- Thursday, July 18th: Chris Hale, Robby Eichman, Sean Kendrick, & Derrell Underwood on the square
- Thursday, July 18th: Power Point in concert in Big Spring Park East.
- Friday, July 19th: Performances by Oscar Newman, Helen Keller’s Ukulele, and Gentle Ben & His Trained Guitar on the square
- Friday, July 19th: Saints Don’t Grieve in concert in Big Spring Park East.
- Thursday, July 25th: On the Square and Eustis Avenue: Arts Alive! Block Party featuring music by Ezell, performances by Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater and Alabama Youth Ballet, henna tattoos, hands-on activities and live art demonstrations.
- Friday, July 26th: Performances by August and Dave and Pete Harrison Jazz Duo on the square
- Friday, July 26th: The Hopefools in concert in Big Spring Park East.
Greene Street Market
Get your fill of fresh produce every Thursday in downtown Huntsville at the Greene Street Market. The market is open from 4-8pm at the corner of Greene Street and Eustis Avenue.

Align and Wine
Align and Wine is a weekly yoga class at the Museum of Art followed by a meal at Pane Vino. These classes are the brainchild of OVE blogger, Mitzi Connell. You can Align and Wine in July on these days:

Get Your History On
If you’ve ever wanted to learn about the history of Huntsville, you’ve got plenty of chances during the month of July!
- Get Spooked: One of my favorite Huntsville events is the Huntsville Ghost Walk. Running every Saturday night at 6pm from June through October. Tours are available for the Old Town Historic District, Twickenham Historic District, and Haunted Downtown. Read more about the Ghost Walk here.
- Downtown Tours: If you’re looking for a slightly less spooky way to get to know downtown, try one of the many downtown tours. Read more about the Historic downtown tours here.
- A Bit of Breakfast with Your History: If you like to eat and learn, then you’ll love the Breakfast Trolley at Constitution Village that takes place on Saturday morning. Read more about this tour here.
Culture Time
There’s plenty of chances to get your fill of culture in July.
- Extended Hours! Thursdays in July the Huntsville Museum of Art is open until 8:00 p.m.
- Spelling Bee: Catch Theatre Huntsville’s production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee July 13th-20th at the VBC
- Music Man: See Huntsville Community Chorus’ production of The Music Man July 26th-August 3rd at the VBC
- Movies in the Park: Watch ET at Historic Huntsville Foundation’s Movies In the Park on Friday July 26th
