Dinner with your Dog in Huntsville
Patio season is here in full swing and Huntsville has some PAWfect ones for dining out with your pooch. (Sorry. I had to.) From fancy to fun to sometimes you’ve just got to have it, there are plenty of options for every palate.
Amerigo
A relatively new addition to the Huntsville scene, this South Huntsville eatery features a huge patio complete with ceiling fans. I had a really yummy Caesar salad with salmon and my husband had the lunch special. Our service was spectacular and loads of people said hello to Hector which is how he rates a place to eat.
Taco Mama
I love tacos and Hector loves chips and queso. All locations of this one are dog friendly but we typically hit up the one in Jones Valley, I like how the patio is all enclosed. My husband likes the burritos and it’s yummy and quick, plus they have good margaritas.
Bandito Burrito
More tacos! (I love tacos.) This one is a long-standing Huntsville staple. I am going to date myself here, but we used to leave newspaper class in high school to “sell ads” and would more often than not end up at Bandito followed by TCBY. Relaxed patio, friendly service and a truly local place.
Bad Daddys’ Burger Bar
Yummy burgers for people and pups. They have a menu for our four-legged friends. Hector thought he had died and gone to heaven when we ordered him his own burger on his own plate. They were also quick to bring water and the patio had fans so it’s great for hot summer days.
Cajun Steamer
I love peel and eat shrimp. It’s a lot of work and I get super messy and I still love it. This one has a pretty small patio, meaning Hector doesn’t fit great so it’s probably better suited for smaller dogs-which is pretty much everyone comparatively speaking. Service is always great and food is yummy.
Pappo’s
Another new-ish place in South Huntsville. Good pizza, draft beers (including some local ones) and friendly service. The majority of this patio is covered and it is enclosed.
Sonic
Y’all may think this one is an odd choice but hear me out. Sometimes you just want something fast and comfort food-ish and for me that means tots and grilled cheese. Hector agrees. He loves tots. This is also a great choice if you’re on a road trip and need to stop as I feel like Sonics are everywhere.
Rock N Roll Sushi
My family loves sushi. I do not. Luckily Rock N Roll Sushi has other yummy options so everybody is happy. Another enclosed patio however this one isn’t covered. The staff is always super nice. We ended up here after Dog Walking Nights at Galaxy of Lights one year and they were still kind enough to let us eat outside even though it was a little chilly. Note: The South Huntsville location doesn’t have a patio, only the Campus 805 one does.
Keep in mind that a place isn’t dog friendly simply because they have a patio or outside space. We always check in advance.
Obviously we have more dog friendly patios than the above in the area and we’d love to hear your favorites and add some new ones to our list!
