It’s October and that means more than time to pick out your Halloween costume. It’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and there are lots of breast cancer awareness month events in Huntsville whether you like to run, paint, dress up, or just get educated.

The Alabama Fashion Alliance celebrates survivors of breast cancer on October 12th. Join them at Studio 106 for food, exhibits, and music, give-a-ways plus a meet and greet with award-winning Atlanta fashion designer Vanessa Henderson, owner of House of Van Miller.
The Annual Liz Hurley Ribbon Run features a 5K race (men’s and women’s are combined this year) and a Survivors’ Walk. All proceeds from the Ribbon Run will benefit the Liz Hurley Breast Cancer Fund at Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Read more about the Liz Hurley Ribbon Run.
October 24th | 12 – 1:30pm | Jackson Center at Hudson Alpha
Tie the Ribbons raises funds for breast and ovarian cancer research at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. The luncheon includes a keynote by Neil Lamb, Ph.D., director of educational outreach at HudsonAlpha and testimonials by cancer survivors Susy Thurber and Debbi Nerstad.
View 200+ “BRAsterpieces” created from across the US at the Huntsville Roundhouse. The October 25th event will also include food and beer/wine tastings, a silent auction, live music from Redheaded Stepchild, and a special appearance by Molly Hopkins and Cynthia Decker of Lifetime’s hit show, Double Divas.
