Over The Hills And Far Away. Dancing Days. D’yer Mak’er. Can you guess what these titles have in common? They are all songs off of one of Led Zeppelin’s most popular albums, Houses of the Holy, and will be part of the set list for Black Jacket Symphony’s concert January 25th at the Von Braun Center. The eleven times platinum album was the first one to feature completely original material by Led Zeppelin, and is one of the classic albums that will be recreated by the BJS orchestra around the southeast.
Wide Range
Having performed hit songs from Queen and The Beatles, the Black Jacket Symphony is an orchestra like no other. Handpicked musicians are selected to perform a popular and beloved album in its entirety, and great measures are taken to ensure the complete reproduction of the album. Inspired by Led Zeppelin‘s fifth studio album, Led Zeppelin: Houses of the Holy will have the entire album performed in typical BJS fashion.
What to Expect
For Zeppelin fans who won’t know what to expect, the album performance will be divided into two sets. The first set will highlight the album as a completely symphonic version. The second set will headline some of the album artist’s greatest hits (in this case, Led Zeppelin) with a light display not unlike that of a major rock concert. The band also plays more freely, making it a stark contrast to the more reserved musicianship of the first act, giving the concertgoer the best of both worlds.
Tickets
Tickets range from $32-40 and can be purchased through the main Black Jacket Symphony website, at the VBC Box Office (Mon. – Fri. l 10am – 5pm) or over the phone at 1.800.745.3000. While purchasing tickets you can also sign up for the BSJ Mailing List to get updates on concerts coming to your area.
