1. Dog Days of Summer @ Earlyworks Museum

Experience all the elements of the new “Puppy Love” exhibit. These include the Pup-Culture time line, the Dog Park reading lounge, the Canine Craft Area, the Breeds of the World Matching Game, the Dog-Gone Scavenger Hunt and much more. Included with admission.

Mondays in June

Acoustic Squared is keeping free Thursday night music going! Two acoustic acts will perform, so feel free to take your purple cup on a walk!
5. Summer Smart Play @ U.S. Space & Rocket Center

The Rocket Center is ready for a summer of fun with the opening of its newest exhibit. Try out a working storm shelter equipped with hands-on safety games, experience the shaking and sounds created by earthquakes and generate electricity to produce light with your own pedal power! Included in admission.

6. The Twelfth Annual Cigar Box Guitar Festival

The Cigar Box Guitar Festival is back for its 12th year at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment! This event is the longest running Cigar Box Guitar festival in the world, celebrating all aspects of Cigar Box Guitar folk culture. This event is free, $2 suggested parking donation.

10. Concerts in the Park
Mondays in June
Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville’s Department of Parks and Recreation present this season, featuring a mix of musical genres from rock and roll, pop and top 40 to swing, country, bluegrass, Celtic, and jazz. The Concerts take place in Big Spring International Park from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Bring their own seating and leashed pets are welcome.

The Huntsville Museum of Art, Voices of Our Times series will welcome back interior designer Bunny Williams. Her growing home furnishings collection was founded in 2008. For 25 years, with her husband, antiques dealer John Rosselli, Williams ran and owned Treillage Ltd., a unique decorative home and garden shop. $100 members, $125 non-members.

17. City Lights and Stars featuring Winslow Davis Ensemble

The Winslow Davis music experience blends electric violin with electric guitar pedal effects, samples, drum and loop machines. Often described as a fusion violinist, Winslow executes an eclectic combination of original instrumental compositions and improvisational arrangements that range from beat-heavy, techno-influenced sessions, to haunting, melodic tunes that are lyrically poetic. Tickets $10 – $15.
18. Breakfast Trolley Tour
Saturday’s in June
Enjoy a muffin and coffee while touring Downtown Huntsville and the Twickenham Historic District, summer Saturdays at 10am. Our “vintage-inspired” trolley bus leaves from Alabama Constitution Village. Cost $18.

22. Dining With Friends

Party-goers will put on their bell bottoms and boogie shoes as Thrive Alabama hosts the 18th annual Dining with Friends benefit at the historic Huntsville Depot Roundhouse, 7-10 pm. Cost to attend is $50. Funds raised from this year’s event will go the purchase of a Mobile Testing Vehicle which will allow the organization to provide free HIV testing at public events, health fairs, homeless camps, and to people with transportation barriers in rural communities.
23. Taco Tackedown @ Pinhook Provisions

Pinhook Provisions will become a battleground as food truck chef’s compete for your vote by creating the ultimate taco. Event benefits Merrimack Hall’s Johnny Stallings Arts Program and the Food Bank of North Alabama. VIP tickets $50, tasting tickets start at $10.

NASA on the Square is moving to the park! In its 3rd year, NASA in the Park returns to Downtown Huntsville 10am – 3pm. NASA Solar System Exploration and Marshall Space Flight Center will have exhibits, speakers, activities, and NASA merchandise, as well as live music and food trucks!

The second annual Microwave Dave Day celebration will be held at A.M. Booth’s Lumberyard in downtown Huntsville from 3 – 10 pm with a suggested donation of $10. There will be a kid-zone and Green Pea Press will be printing shirts on site! Lots of local musicians will perform.
