Boudoir Photography and Motherhood
Let’s face it, motherhood isn’t always rainbows and butterflies. Mommas know the true ups and downs of this incredible journey include some – not so incredible – moments. We at Jennifer Daniels Photography asked some of our clients to send in pictures of these sometimes hilarious, sometimes stressful, and sometimes exhausting moments. We have included a snippet below for your viewing pleasure:
It’s important to remember that although motherhood is an amazing thing, it absolutely does not define us in its entirety. Sometimes as women we can lose our identity after welcoming children into our lives. The constant “Mom, Mom, Mom, Momma, Mommmmmmm!!!” of everyday life tends to erase the other parts of ourselves. Before we had children, we had MANY layers and facets to our lives. Having children just added another layer (albeit a very exhausting, time-consuming, and expensive one). What motherhood did NOT do is delete our senses of humor, styles, hobbies, interests, favorite books and songs, memories, goals, dreams, and all of the other things that make us who we are.
Why Boudoir?
This is where doing a boudoir session comes in. Seeing yourself the way the camera (and your partner) sees you is EYE OPENING. It is a massive wake-up call for so many women. It ignites a flame inside of you that reminds you of the sexy, sultry side- before dirty dishes, yucky noses, and all the other mundane daily tasks that have weighed you down. The therapeutic value of a boudoir session is truly mind blowing.
Despite what you think, having and/or raising children has NOT wrecked or ruined your body. I know what you’re thinking- this woman has no idea what she’s talking about. Oh, but I do. As a mom to a 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy, my body has gone through all of it. And even after getting through the trenches of pregnancy, babies, and toddlers- I often feel like a walking zombie. Yes, I have added a few (many) gray hairs, wrinkles, and lbs. But have I been RUINED? BROKEN? MISFIT? No. And neither have you. You deserve to celebrate who you are at every stage in life.
This Mother’s Day, celebrate the woman you are (underneath all of the spilled milk and toddler tantrums) by partaking in a Boudoir Session with our team at Jennifer Daniels Photography. Our 3600 sf private commercial studio space is located in Madison, Alabama just minutes from Toyota Field. We are female owned and operated, professional hair and makeup is included in every session, and our studio features a brand new Rain Room, multiple sets, and a client accessory closet.
