Habits are hard to break and to form. This is both a blessing and a curse when it comes to creating a healthy lifestyle.
Consistent Health
As a personal trainer (that’s me up top) I am constantly reminding clients about the importance of being consistent with their training as well as their food choices. You will never win the war against fat with a single monthly three-hour training session that leaves you in pieces. Nor will a protein deficient 21-day juicing cleanse lead you to permanent weight loss.
The desired results will come and be sustained by the consistent effort of training when you don’t feel like it or choosing to exchange your daily ice cream dessert for Greek yogurt or strawberries.

TAKE PRIDE in those “small” personal victories because each and everyone of them performed consistently provides your body the necessary tools to become stronger mentally and physically so that when new challenges arise you can better tackle them.
New Priority
In the spirit of challenges, I challenge all of you to make Healthy Huntsville’s Fitness and Nutrition Expo on Saturday, June 9th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. a weekend priority. Doing the laundry or cutting the grass are all important things to take care of, but this is an opportunity for the entire family to spend an active morning together.
This event is not about the fit getting fitter. This is Huntsville opening up its doors to every age, shape, size, and fitness level and exposing what it has to offer so that you will find your niche. Doubtful?
The event will include:
- Moon Bounces
- Healthy cooking demonstrations
- Zumba
- Boot camp
- Tai Chi
- Crossfit training
- And much more!
Mayor Tommy Battle states, “Summer provides an excellent opportunity for families to make changes in the way they eat and play. We are here to provide support and help. Healthy Huntsville’s Fitness and Nutrition Expo showcases the diverse options available to help you build towards your goals.”
When you practice these new (and improved) habits repeatedly and new challenges arise, you are armed and ready to tackle them. Your desired results will come and be sustained.
Step Out of Your Comfort Zone
For all of you who feel too shy or too out of shape to set foot in a Fitness and Nutrition Expo, I urge you to dig deep and remind yourself that change begins in small, personal victories. Simply choosing to attend the expo instead of remaining in the comfort of your typical habits is a real step towards lifelong health and wellness.
