Sunday afternoon is always a fun time in Huntsville when you go down to The Market in MidCity. Having gone for the first time recently, it was definitely wonderful to see and an experience everyone should partake in!
Upon driving to MidCity and seeing everyone out and about, you definitely get a great vibe just from being there. Everyone was ecstatic to be out and the nice weather was a plus for sure. There is a lot to do and something for just about everyone. One of the vendors I came across upon walking into the Farmer’s Market was Samantha and Allie’s Kitchen. They had a very nice selection of items to choose from such as edible cookie dough and candied pecans, which were delectable! I had to get two packs just because there’s no possible way I was going to have just one. They also sold hand sanitizer and bee repellent as well, both of which would be in high demand around this time of year.
Afterwards I walked around more and came across a few of my friends from college. After conversing with them for a while, I found out they had been there the week before and suggested I try Nanny’s Old Fashioned Lemonade. We all walked over to the truck and I then purchased a medium lemonade. Needless to say this was some of the better lemonade I’ve had in a long time! Not your average lemonade for sure, with a lemon being in the lemonade as well! My friend had already had one earlier and had gone back to get a second one. That says it all right there.
If you had a taste for something different though, there was a Piper and Leaf vendor there as well, our local tea spot in Huntsville. I highly recommend the Front Porch Special. Always a great go-to.
Just being around the market for a while, I also noticed a few spots for people to purchase various things from jewelry, eggs, even plants. A vendor called Pure Joy Plants had a plethora of plants to pick from. I’d suggest this spot for anyone who has a green thumb or is thinking about it.
As I made one last lap around the market, getting a great feel for the event as a whole, I took the time to realize that this is a great thing for Huntsville. Having an event on this scale is a nice break for people to just get away for a few hours on a Sunday, and just unwind with good food, beverages, music, and an appreciation for Huntsville continuing to grow.
