1. Spring Plant Sale

This special community event will be your one-stop shopping venue for garden plants, soil testing by Master Gardeners and great free advice from our Huntsville Botanical Garden and Garden Guild plant experts.

2. Yoga on the Square – Beginner 101 Series
April 7, 8, 15, 21, 22
All fitness and yoga levels are welcome and encouraged to participate! Spaces are limited. All dates and times are subject to weather. Bring mat, water bottle, and towel.
3. Disney’s The Little Mermaid presented by Huntsville High School Theatre
April 1 – 9, 13 – 15
In a magical kingdom beneath the sea, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above.
4. Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Crescen-Dough Auction, Music of the Night
April 7
The power of the Phantom will transform the Hall into nighttime Paris. The HSO will provide the Music of the Night and the Phantom of the Auction will make his presence known and may insist that he have a picture taken with you!
5. Sparkman High School Theatre presents ‘Footloose’
April 5 – 9
Kick off your Sunday shoes and cut loose as the rock ‘n’ roll musical sensation Footloose bursts on to the stage in a show sure to get your toes tapping.
6. Earth Day at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center
April 8
Nexus Energy Center is partnering with the U.S. Space and Rocket Center to host the 2nd annual event in observation of Earth Day, a day of appreciation and learning about the planet that we call Home.
7. Battle of the Buffalo
April 8
Come enjoy the best buffalo wings Huntsville has to offer at Round 9 of Battle of the Buffalo. This annual event donates all proceed to the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation at Clearview Cancer Institute and to new partner, Hudson Alpha Institute for Biotechnology to both fight cancer and provide cancer patients with comfortable care.
8. Spring Farm Days
April 8 – 9
Spring Farm Days is an exciting time to visit Burritt on the Mountain’s barnyard animals, experience the historic skills and chores of our ancestors, and learn about life on the farm during the 1800s.
9. 10th Annual Good Day Kid’s Festival
April 8
Brought to you by Lowe Mill A&E and Rocket City Mom, there will be music, food, Nerf battles, kid’s activities on the green area around the Mill, face painting, inflatables, and a Mill wide scavenger hunt.
10. Bites and Brews
April 8
Enjoy samples from over 20 local restaurants and craft breweries – from the trendiest new restaurants and micro-breweries to perennial hometown favorites. There’s something for everyone to enjoy at this event!
11. Huntsville Ballet Company presents Mixed Repertory
April 8 – 9
Celebrate more US history as the Huntsville Ballet Company presents a star spangled ballet, American Spirit, and an all-American Classic Western, Billy the Kid, which tells the exciting story of the old West through the arts of dance and music.
12. Cabaret Upstairs: Les Misèrables Revisited
April 9
Independent Musical Productions brings you a new collaboration with Amendment XXI to provide an evening of outstanding entertainment.
13. Bunny Bonanza
April 15
10,000 eggs stuffed with treats are scattered about the Garden, with music, games, refreshments, and face painting to keep your little one busy. The Easter Bonnet Parade is always fun.
14. Rocket City Beer and Bacon Bash
April 15
Straight to Ale’s big bash features beer, live music by 45 Surprise, and all the bacon snacks you can eat!
15. The Boxmasters
April 17
Teddy Andreadis, J.D. Andrew and Billy Bob “Bud” Thornton make up “The Boxmasters”; an American roots-rock band of seasoned musicians whose sound is rich in rhythm and story.
16. Toss ‘um Tuesday with Musgrove Sessions
April 18
Daisy themed Corn Hole Game complete with lights and a score pole will be set-up on the Lake Lonnie Meadow within earshot of the lively traditional Bluegrass and Old Time music performed by Musgrove Sessions string band.
17. Southern Blues: Music of the Soul
April 20
The Huntsville Museum of Art Guild is proud to host Southern Blues: Music of the Soul to launch a very unique exhibit by Tim Duffy entitled OUR LIVING PAST: A PLATINUM PORTRAIT OF MUSIC MAKERS, featuring images and instruments of Southern musical heroes and the world in which they live – promoting the enduring tradition of Southern roots music.

18. MojoFlo Concerts on the Dock

This established neo-funk group is one of the midwest’s premier purveyors of groovealicious music. Bring chairs, picnics, friends, and pets on a leash and join us under the water tower! $5 suggested parking donation.
19. Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theater Presents: Pinocchio
April 21 – 23, 28 – 30
From the moment the wooden puppet Pinocchio comes to life until he becomes a real boy for rescuing his father from the great fish, the excitement never ends. Join the Blue Fairy and her friends as they lead the audience through the tale of the boy whose “nose” grew.
20.Paddle the Canal
April 22
First ever “Paddle the Canal” Time Trials in Downtown Huntsville. You can register as an individual, team of two, or team of four as you race the clock down Big Spring Canal, around Thrasher Fountain, and back. Team scores consist of team member’s individual best times added together.
21. Spring Fest 2017
April 21 – 22
Spring Fest brings live music, food, and craft beer to the Butler Green between Yellowhammer and Straight to Ale breweries. The event will span two evenings, as Muscle Shoals comes to town on Friday night followed by a Saturday focus on the sounds and flavors of Nashville.

PLUS, back by popular demand is the Craft Beer Garden where guests can sample local brews as well as purchase all their favorites. Free to attend, food for purchase.
23. The Rite of Spring presented by Huntsville Symphony Orchestra
April 22
We bring our Classical Series to an end with Ravel’s thrilling orchestration of his own piano piece, “The Morning Song of the Jester,” and the groundbreaking First Violin Concerto of 20th century Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.
24. Panoply Arts Festival
April 28 – 30
Panoply is the Southeast’s premier arts weekend where Huntsville’s innovative spark shines through a festival of art, music and more in downtown’s Big Spring Park. Presented by Arts Huntsville, Panoply features live performances, the Art Marketplace, STEAM interactives for all ages, beer and wine and much more!
