“Music is the moonlight in the gloomy night of life.”
― Jean Paul Friedrich Richter
Covid-19. By now you have likely heard the parodies by musicians around the country trying to bring a smile to others with a familiar tune about the tragic state the world is in over this coronavirus.
Our cityscape has changed during the past month and the Huntsville music scene has received a devastating blow. SHOWS: CANCELLED. Cancelled shows, gigs rescheduled as music venues have had to close, per the rules given by Governor Ivey in March.
Yet Huntsville’s musical heartbeat is still on the one. THE SHOW MUST GO ON? Yes! But now in isolation. You can’t stop a maker.
Tough times often demand more emotional connection with music and the makers feel that tug. In a time of uncertainty, music lovers are turning to catching a show via social media.
Virtual and Live Concerts
From national acts to your favorite local rock star, live-streaming is taking the place of the local public shows we all love to experience and gather with friends.
Some venues and music store owners are ushering these shows, giving these artists a safe space to broadcast while partnering with curb-side sales of growlers or take-out while keeping to the rules of social distancing. Watch for shows at Green Bus Brewing, The Fret Shop, Tangled String Studio and of course, living rooms across the city.
Facebook gives us a community feel with these interactive live-feeds and a host of our locals are rising up to raise vibrations and deliver a respite from the news. You can find artists sharing their schedules in this group:

Tangled String Studios would like to help solve two problems by offering their COUCH TOUR: One, you have to stay home, wash your hands, and be safe. You are going to need some music! Two, musicians need gigs to make ends meet, and they love playing for you while keeping their favorite venues alive.
