If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll notice little time goes by without a coffee shop picture popping up.
As much as we enjoy the coffee experience at one of the many local shops, we enjoy those slow mornings enjoying a cup at home too.
Here are some tips if you’re looking to up your home brew setup:
Coffee:
Pass on the Starbucks and pick up some beans from a local coffee shop. We PROMISE you there is much better tasting coffee out there.
Olde Towne Coffee, Rooster’s Crow Coffee, and The Kaffeeklatsch have a huge selection of beans that they roast themselves. You can also pop into Honest Coffee, Alchemy, and Offbeat Coffee Studio to pick up one of their retail bags as well.

Brew Equipment:
Having an espresso machine is not a requirement to make great coffee at home. Our preferred method is currently the Chemex pour over. You’ll also find a Moka Pot and French press in our collection.
Part of why we enjoy coffee at home is the process and the tools we use. Last Christmas we got a new pour over kettle by a San Francisco based company, Fellow. It’s matte black and designed beautifully.
We also have a handmade grinder made by Steve Seaman of Lester, AL. We look forward to using these tools each morning.
Knowledge:
This past March was the first Huntsville Coffee and Tea Festival which was a fabulous event that featured our local (and nearby) coffee scene. We hope there will be another one next year so keep an eye out!
Research, experiment, and have fun!

Also, your local baristas are full of knowledge, and they LOVE talking coffee.
Strike up a conversation next time you’re at one of the amazing coffee shops in Huntsville!
