Sometimes we have side hustles, online classes, or remote jobs we need a space for.
When home is too distracting or the WiFi is too terrible, we flock to places where the internet is free and the coffee (or tea) is strong.
As an experienced side hustler, I have a couple of places I escape to when the scenery at home gets too boring.
Here’s the list I made for people looking for cozy corners and fast internet to get some work done.
Chill Places with Free WiFi
The newest spot to open at Campus 805 is a cool little coffee shop/record store, with colorful decor and a full menu. This is a decent spot to get work done if you want to grab dinner or do something fun afterward. Straight to Ale, Civil Axe Throwing or Lone Goose are just steps away.
Pro: Super close to food and fun

Warmer weather means more outdoor time, and good news for us Alchemy Coffee is right in the middle of The Camp. It’s a good place to get some eats, drinks, and soak up the sunshine in their outdoor area, or just chill inside Alchemy if there is too much sunshine to see your computer screen. The Camp sometimes has strange hours, so check on Alchemy’s website to see if there isn’t an event going on.
Pro: Beautiful outdoor area

I love this little gem in South Huntsville. Their Caribbean flair and cozy space on top of their amazing food and drinks make them one of my favorite coffee houses to go to. If you get hungry their baked goodies and sandwiches are amazing and will give you the fuel you need.
Pro: Carribean style food and drinks

Piper x Leaf Artisan Tea – Lowe Mill and Strong Station
The Lowe Mill location is a snug little coffee shop that has the perfect quiet atmosphere. The Strong Station location has more open space with more proximity to Madison residents and pastries. Either way, you get tasty hot or cold Piper X Leaf Tea and a place to chill out or work (with WiFI).
Pro: Two locations and great for tea-drinkers
Downtown Huntsville’s favorite not-so-little coffee shop has plenty of space to stretch out with all your work materials, and their homemade pastries (like their version of the Pop-Tart) will keep you coming back for more than the WiFi.
Pros: Tasty baked goods and plenty of space
Co-working Spaces
If it’s a more serious office space and services you need, there are a few places where start-ups and local entrepreneurs can get their business off the ground.
