One of our favorite things to do on the weekend is take a day trip to explore a neighboring city.

Nashville has been one of our most frequent trips and here’s why:
What a perfect, healthy, vegetarian restaurant located in East Nashville.
Meat eaters: don’t let the word vegetarian scare you. The people at Sunflower Cafe know how to take your favorite meals and put a meatless, healthy spin on it.
You like pulled pork? Spicy buffalo wings? They have you covered.
Dare I even say it tastes better? You be the judge, but you know where we stand on the issue.
Could this be our all-around favorite Nashville coffee shop?
Those words have been uttered while sipping on a cappuccino and admiring the beautiful cafe racers throughout the shop.
We love the garage style vibe, open space, and tons of natural light which makes this a perfect hang out. And trust us, you’ll want to spend some time here.
Tea aficionados, rejoice!
We discovered High Garden during one of our most recent Nashville trips and were thrilled to find them serving up craft kombucha cocktails and flights, along with everything tea related. They are passionate about what they do and happy to help you.
Note that this is a laptop-free establishment. So ditch the electronics, take in your surroundings, and enjoy your time here.
It’s trendy, full of “hipsters”, and has some of the best darn tacos we’ve ever had.
Props to Mas Tacos for innovative menu options like quinoa and sweet potato, cactus and chorizo (weekly special), and fried avocado.
Also look for elote and plantains, and be sure to try their horchata!
Because what’s Nashville without Nashville hot chicken?
Our first time visiting Hattie B’s we made sure to get there early but apparently not early enough. The line starts forming at least 30 minutes before opening with people ready to torture their taste buds (in the best way possible) with six levels of heat.
When it comes to sides, we can’t pass up the pimento mac and cheese!
You will always remember your first time trying a 100 layer donut from Five Daughters Bakery, because it will be the moment you’ve tried the most delicious donut in existence.
We know that’s a loaded statement, but I’m sure a lot of you will agree. They have a few locations throughout Nashville and Florida, but the 12 South location is our favorite because of its charming neighborhood vibe.
Let us know your favorite Nashville spots or if some of these are your favorites, too!
