There are a lot of great races in our area.
There are 5ks, 10ks, and beyond.
There are triathlons, as well as biathlons.
But do you know what all these races are lacking? A dizzy bat station.

That is where Huntsville Adventure Boot Camp and Girls On The Run of North Alabama comes in.
On Sunday, November 5 at 2:00 pm they are hosting the first ever Rocket City Adventure Race in downtown Huntsville. It is the first race of its kind in our area and will require a partner.
The race is free to register for, but donations are being collected to support GOTR.
The course will be 2.7 miles long, starting on the west side of the courthouse square.
There will be 17 stations scattered throughout Big Spring Park that run the gamut from challenging to weird and everything in between.
Some activities to expect are:
- field day exercises
- climbing wall
- brain teasers
- an inflatable
- and more
The main goal for this race is to have fun.
If you can walk 2.7 miles, you can complete this race.
Men, women, and children of all ages and fitness levels are invited to participate.
Girls on the Run of North Alabama is the new local council of Girls on the Run Inc. which is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization offering physical-activity based positive youth development programs after school. Lessons focus on helping young girls develop their own unique skills and style on topics like caring, character, confidence, competence, and connection leading to contributions in their community. Aspects of physical development are linked to exercise, making healthy choices and running activities.
This Fall, Girls on the Run of North Alabama began in four sites across the area, serving 56 girls, and will reach 12 sites, serving nearly 200 girls, in the Spring of 2018 with a fast pace of growth for the future.
Immediately following the race, there will be an after-party at Green Bus Brewing near the square downtown.
They are Downtown Huntsville’s Neighborhood Nano Brewery and will be donating $1 to GOTR for every pint sold.
