It’s officially December and to help celebrate the month, we’ve created a Huntsville Advent Calendar. Find something special to do in Huntsville each day leading up to Christmas.

Huntsville Advent Calendar 2017
December 1 – Make plans to see a show month, like A Christmas Carol or the Nutcracker: A Yuletide Ballet or Sanders Family Christmas. Find even more holiday performances on our calendar.
December 2 – Make a new holiday tradition with Kris Kringle’s Candlelight Christmas.
December 3 – Mail your Christmas cards! Be sure to use fun stamps.
December 4 – GIVE or VOLUNTEER! Whether it’s purchasing gifts for someone in need, stocking a pantry or helping a neighbor in the yard, make giving from the heart a priority this month.
December 5 – Watch the Mix 96.9 Von Braun Center Huntsville Christmas Parade in Downtown Huntsville. Bundle up though, this is a night parade!
December 6 – Paint! Schedule a class to create, for yourself or a gift, at My Spirited Art or Pinot’s Palette.
December 7 – Drive through Galaxy of Lights at Huntsville Botanical Gardens.
December 8 – Visit Pizzelle’s Confections at Lowe Mill A&E and pick up some chocolatey gifts and have a little drinking chocolate with house-made marshmallows. Yum!
December 9 – Find Santa at Santa’s Village in Downtown Huntsville. Bring your wish list!
December 10 – Visit one of your friendly neighborhood breweries, Straight to Ale, which is also where you’ll find the Nerdy Noel holiday market. Here’s your chance to shop for the geeks in your life.
December 11 – Watch a Christmas movie and string popcorn garland.
December 12 – Shop local! Let’s face it, you either haven’t started your Christmas shopping, or you still have a few things left to pick up. Hit a local store today.
December 13 – Call someone you love! Check in with them, make plans, or just call to say I Love You. The holidays are a great excuse to catch up with someone you haven’t talked to in a long time.
December 14 – Go see the new Star Wars movie. The earlier you see it, the easier it is to avoid spoilers.
December 15 – Go to a Havoc Hockey game. It’s Game of Thrones night! Does that mean winter is finally here?
December 16 – Done your big red suit and join the HYP Santa Bar Crawl.
December 17 – Head over to Madison and visit the Christmas Tree display and Christmas Card Lane. Bonus points for playing Christmas music on the way.
December 18 – Time for baking. Whether you do homemade from scratch or scoop from a tub of Tollhouse, making holiday treats can be fun and delicious!
December 19 – Get ready for basketball with the Rocket City Classic. It features a doubleheader between Alabama vs. Mercer and UAH vs. Shorter.
December 20 – Read about and discuss holiday traditions in other countries.
December 21 – Make hot cocoa and drive around looking at neighborhood Christmas lights! Be sure and play Christmas music loudly.
December 22 – Lace up your skates at Skating in the Park behind Huntsville Museum of Art. It’s a holiday tradition.
December 23 – Visit Tinsel Trail in Big Spring Park in Downtown Huntsville. Bring your visiting relatives (and Fido the family dog) and you are guaranteed to be in the Christmas spirit!
December 24 – Track Santa! We love to watch him in his sleigh delivering toys all over the world with the Official Norad Santa Tracker. ( PS You may open 1 gift! )
December 25 – Merry Christmas!
