Last weekend was officially the start of fall, and we enjoyed it the best way we could even though it didn’t quite feel like it (hello 90 degrees and humidity).

Experience the Perfect Fall Weekend with Eat Huntsville
Friday
Concerts on the Dock at Lowe Mill was the ultimate way to kick off the weekend.
Fortunately, by the time the sun had set and the music started, it had cooled off and turned out to be a beautiful evening!
Another big win of the night was having Manic Organic serve up their 100% scratch made, locally sourced menu.
We opted for the calabacitas tacos which were loaded with veggies and flavor and washed it down with a craft beer we brought from home (yet another WIN for Concerts on the Dock; you can bring your own beverages).
Saturday
We decided to get up bright and early Saturday morning and walk to Olde Towne Coffee in Five Points to get the day started with exercise and caffeine.
This really sets the tone for the day and makes us feel productive. Iced lattes were the perfect Saturday morning treat and way to stay cool.
If there’s one restaurant in Huntsville that we get recommended the most, it’s El Azteca on Governors. Why we hadn’t been is still a mystery to me.
It was incredible!
They have a really extensive menu, great vegetarian options, and friendly service. Their tacos rival the ever-so-popular El Cazador, and the vegetarian fajitas were enough for two people to share.
We already have plans to go back this week!
One of the most exciting parts of the day was stopping by Smallcakes to pick up a cake. Yes, a big ol’ CAKE.
They’re currently in the works, and we might be doing a giveaway on our Instagram when they officially launch. So be sure you’re following us over there, because you won’t want to miss out on this deliciousness!
Sunday
Sunday morning started with a hike at Monte Sano.
The proximity to downtown Huntsville means it’s always convenient to head to the mountain whether you have a full day on the trails planned or just want to make it a brief trip. Easy access to nearby trails is something we frequently take advantage of.
After leaving the mountain we decided to take a quick walk around downtown to see if we could spot #asundaycarpic.
Urban exploration and street photography are always fun for us, and sometimes we’re surprised by cool finds that are very close to home.
We’d love to hear about your weekend plans!
