I like to sum up people’s live music preference into two categories: either you love a big concert arena or you lean towards a small, cozy space.

Maybe you like the feel of a big stadium and the roar of a crowd as your favorite musician walks onto the stage.
Or maybe, like me, you prefer a more intimate setting where the artist is almost breathing the same air as you.
If small spaces is more of your thing, then you might want to check out Tangled String Studios in Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment.
Tangled String Studios: Huntsville’s Best Kept Concert Secret
Some know of it as a custom guitar shop. It’s known for creating some of the finest acoustic guitars in Huntsville. Many folks know of it as a cool looking guitar store in Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment. It’s a neat place to look around in as one of the many stops in Huntsville’s biggest art center.
But few people know about the parade of extremely talented bands and solo artists (some of them world-famous) that have put on shows in that little space.
From Amanda Shires, to Paul McDonald, to former Civil Wars co-member John Paul White, every show hosted by Tangled String is sure to be unforgettable.
The studio boasts a smaller wooden stage and area (normally part of the guitar showroom) that can seat 100 audience members or more if the area is standing room only.
This may be the most elusive concert venue I have ever come across. Advertisements for their upcoming concerts are shared via Lowe Mill A&E (on their Events Calendar), Facebook (as a Facebook Event on their page) and on their official website. Once shows are advertised they quickly sell out, either due to the size of the concert venue or to the high caliber of the performers Tangled String books to play in their studio.
I’d like to think it’s both.
But if you want to make sure you make it to a show, check their Facebook and website regularly and buy tickets as soon as they become available.
The concerts at Tangled String Studios is one tiny Huntsville secret you don’t want to miss.
