1.Stories Under The Stars @ Burritt on the Mountain
May 4
Celebrate the longstanding tradition of storytelling by showcasing the history of our community members. Grab a blanket and some lawn chairs and enjoy the sunset view during an evening of live storytelling and music, $10.
2.Community Conversations: Ilsa J. Bick
May 5
The Huntsville Library Foundation’s Community Conversations series is set to explore new literary frontiers in science fiction, horror, and fantasy. Tickets $25.
3. Whistlestop Weekend Festival
May 6 – 7
A toe-tappin, barbeque-eatin’ good time and best of all it’s all for a good cause. All proceeds benefit EarlyWorks Children’s Museum and educational programs for area children. Read more.

6. Good Day Kid’s Festival @ Lowe Mill
May 7
Rocket City Mom is turning 5 years old and we are gonna throw a birthday bash on the East lawn. All proceeds will benefit our future playground which is closer than ever to being a reality. $5 donation for parking.
7. Huntsville Classic featuring Earth, Wind & Fire
May 12
Proceeds from the 2016 Huntsville Classic will benefit the North Alabama Stroke Network, a new initiative led by Huntsville Hospital. Tickets are now $30.

There are over 40 vendors with a wide variety of art forms and live music on the Square in Downtown Huntsville.
9. Rocket City Brewfest @ Huntsville Depot

Local breweries, food vendors, and musicians come together to support this fundraiser for Free The Hops. Tickets $45 at the gate.
10. Forever Plaid presented by Theatre Huntsville
May 13 – 21
This deliciously fun revue is chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies. Tickets $22.
11. City Lights and Stars @ Burritt on the Mountain
May 13 & May 27
City Lights and Stars kicks off another great season. 13 – Mambo Gris Gris. 15 – Eric Essex. Tickets $15.

12. Movies in the Park @ Village of Providence: Minions

Movies begin at dusk, usually between 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. The screen will be located in The Village of Providence Park, the large green space on Providence Main Street.

13. First Quarter Moon Hike on Wade Mountain
May 13
Join Hike Leader Doug Horacek for a moonlight stroll to the Cedar Glades atop Wade Mountain Nature at 8 pm. Please bring a flashlight. Cloud cover cancels this hike.
14. Margs at the Museum

Join us for a night filled with live music, raffle prizes, a cash bar and Mexican fare. One complimentary margarita included in your ticket purchase. Tickets $25.

The May street food gathering returns to Church Street in Downtown Huntsville.
16. Watercolors & Wine in the Aquatic Garden

Painting and sipping wine classes are popular and the Garden is the perfect inspiration! Painting is therapeutic and a great way to relax, No art experience is necessary as artist Steve Shears guides the group in creating masterpieces. $35.
