Huntsville Chocolates
1.Chocolate dipped bacon roses from Honeypie Bakery. Roses? Chocolates? Cover both the romantic standards and throw in bacon for good measure with this edible bouquet.
Your choice of dark, milk, or white chocolate. $15/half dozen or $25/dozen, pick up at the bakery Feb 10th-13th.
2. Chocolate oatmeal porter from Blue Pants Brewery. Give the beer aficionado in your life something to swoon over.
Available in bottles at locations throughout Huntsville, expect to pay about $10/6 pack.
3. Cocoa Bannana smoothie from I Love Juice Bar. Want the deliciousness of chocolate, but not wanting to break your new year’s streak of healthy eating?
A smoothie packed with spinach lets you have your chocolate and eat it too. (Also see the Blue Chocolotta). $6.59 for a regular or $8.50 for a large.
4. Chocolate Torte from Mason Dixon Bakery and Bistro. Decadent and gluten free, each torte is perfectly sized to be a generous sweet treat for one or a sweet something for two. $5/each.
5. Drinking Chocolate from Pizzelle’s Confections. Yes, you could always purchase the gorgeous artisan truffles which Pizzelle’s is best known for (and really, you should), but we’re looking off the beaten path here.
Whether you buy it in the shop by the cup (topped with marshmallows made in house and fresh whipped cream) or purchase the mix to make it at home, this drinking chocolate is luxuriously rich. $5/cup in store or $10/cannister (4-5 servings).
